Heather Allen

Heather is an international independent expert on diversity, gender and sustainable transport, with extensive experience in research studies and implementing projects to develop inclusive, safe transport systems. Examples include: data collection on sexual harassment on public transport in Africa, Latin America and Asia and can draw on experiences and good practice from all over the world. Her client list includes World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, GIZ and others. Recent examples of work include collecting data on E-Mobility as a Driver for Change (an international baseline on gender and e-mobility); an inclusive planning guide for C40;and an review of the future transport labour market; sexual harassment in Nigeria and Malawi, developing an internet based, decision-making tool for stakeholders to address personal security for Africa (SHECAN tool); a study on Gender imbalance in the transport sector: a toolkit for change.
