I grew up in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, a densely populated city in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). I hold a PhD in Human Geography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), a Master’s in Population and Territorial Studies from the same university, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona.
During my research career, I have spent time in different cities and academic environments as a visiting researcher, including at the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris (France), the University of Tokyo (Japan), RMIT University in Melbourne (Australia), and the Instituto de Estudios Urbanos y Territoriales at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago (Chile).
My research interests lie at the intersection of urban environments, quality of life, and social justice, with a particular focus on daily mobility from an intersectional gender perspective. I have worked with mobility surveys to quantitatively analyse gendered mobility patterns in Barcelona and Bogotá, and in my current research project, I have been conducting interviews with key stakeholders involved in inclusive mobility policies—such as policymakers and mobility professionals— in Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Santiago de Chile to examine the role of knowledge tools and data production in shaping gender-sensitive (or insensitive) urban planning.
