Mengzhu Zhang, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at Peking University, China. Her work focuses on combining human geography theories with advanced social computation methods to investigate the deep-seated problems of growth and inequality in four major urban public service sectors: education, healthcare, transportation and housing. The primary goal is to enhance opportunities, equity, and well-being for urban residents. Mengzhu serves as the co-editor-in-chief of Heliyon: Urban Development (Cell Press/Elsevier) and has guest-edited special issues for the Journal of Transport Geography, Transportation Research Part D, and Asian Geographer.
