Reena Mahajan

Reena Mahajan is an urban planner and architect dedicated to replacing car-centric sprawl with people-centred, nature-positive cities. Originally from India and currently based in Paris, she brings expertise in water-sensitive urban design, sustainable mobility, and integrating a gender-responsive approach to urban planning.

Reena has successfully conceived and coordinated low-impact urban development projects for French integrated planning firms for over 15 years. Overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers, she has forged a career across three continents, including becoming a leading advocate for walking and cycling in one of her adopted cities, Montevideo, where she spearheaded a road culture awareness campaign, #MontevideoPacificada.

Reena now leads an independent consultancy, Studio Divercity, an international platform that blends urban design, policy advocacy, and public forums to regenerate the built environment, with the core mission of advancing the wellbeing of people and the planet.
