Shannon Lohner is an MSc student in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Alberta. She is the former chair of Paths for People, an Edmonton, AB, CAN based non-profit organization focused on making Edmonton a safer place to walk, roll, and cycle. She is passionate about effective urban design and it’s capabilities to make cities a more equitable space for women, low income people, and other marginalized individuals. As a person with an invisible disability, she is particularly interested in developing efficient transportation options for individuals, and moving away from car-centric urban design.
