I am an urban planner with experience in advancing sustainable and gender-inclusive urban development and mobility in India. I have worked with the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT), Government of Karnataka, and with The Urban Catalysts (TUC), contributing to projects that combine research, policy, and practice to create inclusive cities.
My expertise lies in integrating gender perspectives into urban and transport planning, developing analytical frameworks, and conducting spatial impact assessments to inform equitable policy and design decisions. I have worked on strengthening public transport systems through targeted strategies, preparing tactical urbanism guidelines, and conducting inclusive transit station audits to improve accessibility and safety.
I am skilled in designing and implementing surveys, leading field data collection, and applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods. My work has also involved GIS-based spatial analysis, literature reviews, and the synthesis of findings into actionable recommendations and technical reports.
In addition to research and analysis, I have led multi-stakeholder consultations, city-level workshops, and participatory public engagement initiatives to promote inclusive urban environments. This has included working closely with government agencies, international organizations, and civil society groups to bring diverse perspectives into planning processes.
I have presented project findings at national and international workshops and conferences, sharing insights on gender-inclusive mobility and urban development. My professional focus is on building cities that are sustainable, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all genders, ages, and abilities.
