Winnie Chore

Ms. Winnie Chore is a Senior Network Management Officer in the Public Transport Operations Management Department at NaMATA. Her responsibilities include public transport sector reforms and transition, electric mobility, and capacity building and training.

Previously, Winnie served as the Senior Superintending Engineer Roads in the Ministry of Roads and Transport. In this role, she was involved in policy development, infrastructure development, and the monitoring and evaluation of road infrastructure and transportation systems. Her extensive experience has given her a deep understanding of the importance of transport, particularly public transport, for the growth and development of modern, healthy cities.

Winnie has been very active and instrumental in the ongoing planning and implementation of several sustainable urban transport projects. She contributes effectively to national and urban transport policy reviews, as well as institutional and sector reforms.

She holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Russia’s Tver State Technical University and a Master’s in Transportation Engineering from the University of Nairobi. A certified road safety auditor and trainer, Winnie is passionate about developing public transport systems that are user-friendly, environmentally friendly, and inclusive. She has undertaken various regional and international training programs, enabling her to provide solutions to transport challenges that promote inclusivity, climate adaptation, and road safety measures.
