Charlotte van Vessem is a PhD researcher focusing on gender & mobility at Mobilise (VUB). Her PhD research is focused on inclusive urban mobility, with a particular interest in accessibility and how this connects to gendered differences and care-related mobilities in mobility behaviour and policymaking. Currently, she is also involved in a research project on queer mobilities in Brussels, supported by the Brussels Centre for Urban Studies (BCUS), in which she researches how queer identities intersect with mobility behaviour and perception of public space. Additionally, she works on a project aimed at fostering 15-minute city neighbourhoods in European urban outskirts, with a focus on behaviour, caretaking and policymaking.
