Claudia Pennese is an architect and PhD, Equality Officer and University Expert in Collaborative and Anticipatory Governance. She is a researcher and consultant at RB3, a spin-off of the University of the Basque Country (EHU), where she develops projects on urban transformation through collaborative governance, co-creation, open innovation and urban feminism.
She teaches on EHU’s Master’s Degree in Gender Equality and Equality Officer training, focusing on feminist methodologies for urban transformation. She has contributed to European projects including oPENLab and PERSIST, working on participatory processes for a just energy transition and on strengthening citizens’ role as agents of change, with particular attention to women’s strategic role.
More recently, she has expanded her work into mobility, exploring how governance and co-design can challenge existing mobility patterns. Her particular interest is women’s night-time mobility and how androcentric approaches to the night-time economy affect women’s right to the city and the equitable distribution of care and everyday life.
