Radwa Abo Shady has gained around Fifteen years in research/consultation working with different research institutions, both public and private, in and outside Egypt. Ms. Abo Shady completed her undergraduate bachelor’s degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. She holds a master’s in public policy from the American University in Cairo awarded Jameel, the fellowship. This experience allowed her to take part in two different study tours, to China and South Africa. It enables her to spend six months as an exchange student at the Free University (FU) in Berlin. She worked before with RCREEE, IDSC, and a consultancy with “Dubai economy” and with MHRSD, Riyadh, KSA. She is now awarded MOFCOM PhD scholarship at UIBE in Beijing, China. She won two grants one from “Open society foundation” and “Ford Foundation” in addition to presenting her research papers in many countries, for example, in the MENA region (Lebanon, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia), South Korea, the US, Netherland, Spain, and Switzerland. Her professional experience ranges from proposal writing and for research projects, report editing, and capacity building in addition to some M&E with Oxfam Novib and WE4F. Additionally, her research interests focused on the areas of sustainability, labor market, transportation, social policy, and Gender. Most practical experience with the focus on Gender, EDUCATION, Mentoring.
Ms. Abo Shady is a 2015 Google Award Winner for her presenting a project idea on using Google tools in promoting the rule of law in Arab Countries, from the first Arab Liberty Festival hosted in Morocco. Her master’s thesis was about how can transport play a role in Egyptian women’s participation in the labor market in addition to publishing papers in some research centers in UAE and K.S.A. Her last post was a senior economic consultant with the ministry of human resources and social development in Riyadh to develop the social policy and women empowerment indicators in the Kingdom according to international standards, in addition to working in a project funded by the US department of the State about how to make our streets in Egypt responsive to women needs.
