More Than Gender: Walking Realities in Cities is a three-part online webinar series exploring how everyday walking experiences are shaped by intersecting factors such as gender, disability, migration and age.

Held between 20 January and 3 February 2026, the series is organised by Just Streets and the International Federation of Pedestrians, bringing together participants and speakers from across Europe.

The webinars start from a simple but often overlooked premise: walking is not experienced equally. Barriers in public space — such as inaccessible sidewalks, unsafe crossings, blocked curb ramps or poorly connected public transport — affect people differently depending on gender, disability, migration background or age. These lived realities remain too often invisible in transport planning and urban design.

Through three interconnected sessions, the series highlights how lived experience can inform more inclusive, accessible and people-centred cities, and how participatory approaches can help translate everyday realities into better policy and practice.
