Are our cities truly designed for the people who live in them? And what if the best answers came from children? Our experiences as children inform so much of how we see the world and how we move around our communities form memories and connections that will last a lifetime. With cities all over the world looking for ways to build play and active mobility back into children’s daily lives, how can planning with children, rather than for them, have a positive impact? In the Belgian city of Genk, mobility advisors along with the City and Telraam worked with Driehoeven Primary School to establish a child-first approach to creating a more inviting school environment.
