Pinay Bike Commuters Community

Pinay Bike Commuter Community is an online community exclusively for women to share experiences about bike commuting, and to serve as a safe space to ask questions about cycling, or other bike-commuting related matters. We strive for empowering women to be able to get from point A to point B safely, and for women to feel safe on the road, both on and off the bicycle.

Kota Kita

Kota Kita is a non-profit organization based in Solo, Indonesia working to bridge dialogues between governments and citizens by facilitating the involvement of all citizens — especially the marginalized and excluded. Because without these voices, we will never realize a city shaped and informed by empowered citizens — A City for All.

The organization has some focus on women. For instance, “Women on Wheels”, a multifaceted Pilot Project in the city of Surakarta was implemented between 2015-2018 to promote cycling as a way to empower women and girls to fully and equally participate in socio-economic attainment, while promoting the values of sustainable and liveable cities.
