Mujeres Construyendo, founded in 2009 by Claudia Calvin, empowers women to maximize their potential through internet and blog usage, aiming to bridge the digital gap and shatter the digital glass ceiling. With over 45,000 participants in our Spanish-speaking digital community across Latin America, mujeresconstruyendo hosts women content creators covering diverse topics from motherhood to activism. Through partnerships with companies and institutions like Google and ONUMujeres, we provide tools for women’s development and influence decision-making in various societal spheres. UpGirl is a Chilean transportation app created strictly to mobilize women and children.
For some time now, we have seen women-oriented passenger transport initiatives; this is in order to offer a space where we can feel safe, both as drivers and users. It is from this scenario that UpGirl was born.
Walkability Institute (Instituto Caminhabilidade)
The Walkability Institute (Instituto Caminhabilidade) is a non-profit organization led by women and founded in 2012 that, driven by the urgency of achieving gender equality and addressing the climate crisis, develops walkable cities with citizen participation.
It does this through two lines of action, promoting the culture of walking and humanizing cities,integrating five action areas: Education and information, research and consulting, networks and events, urban projects and advocacy and partnerships.
Mujeres en Movimiento
Women in Motion (WIM) is an international women-led initiative that was born in the framework of the International Transport Forum in Leipzig on 24 May 2018. It seeks to strengthen women’s leadership in sectors that lack diversity and gender equality through a network of active cooperation and governance of the civil, private and public sectors. We seek to promote women leaders who lead the construction of inclusive, safe and sustainable cities.
